RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Obtains patient demographic and insurance information by interview with patients.
2. Performs Outpatient registrations, admissions, transfer functions, and ED duties.
3. Creates and updates patient profiles in Meditech.
4. Performs cashiering, copying, filing and maintaining records, paying close attention to detail and compliance with all data including insurance, telephone numbers and other demographic information.
5. Creates patient profiles, scans documentation and communicates information to patients, nursing and customers consistently. All entries must be accurate and complete.
6. Uses eligibility system to ensure patient has insurance coverage at time of service and determines and collects copays and payments at time of service.
7. Completes questionnaire forms relating to secondary coverage, waivers of liability, and prior days stay in another facility.
8. Performs all duties described in a professional and proficient manner
9. Continues training, is self-motivated to achieve and learn, and may seek certification in any means provided by NRH such as NCAHAM.
10. Ensures compliance regulations and rules are followed, and processes are handled appropriately. Including: IMMs, Consents, Red Flag, insurance verification & changes, MVA forms, Privacy Policies, etc.
11. Works cooperatively and as a team player with team, supervisor and manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and fluently.
- Computer experience using Microsoft Windows Suite.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills may be asked to demonstrate.
- Type 59 correct keystrokes per minute for Alpha.
- Two years experience in a customer service environment.
P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma/GED.
- CNA or other medical certification.
- Experience in medical environment.
- Completion of an approved Medical Terminology course or Medical Terminology knowledge.
- Experience with Meditech or other medical data systems.
- Certification by a professional organization (CAM, CHAA or CHAM).
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
