RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Knowledge of computer system and utilization of available applications.
2. Prepares and analyzes financial and statistical information. Investigates trends and
variances.
3. Assists with the preparation of the annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
4. Prepares information needed for the annual Medicaid DSH survey.
5. Assists with the preparation of the annual budget.
6. Reconciles all the organization’s bank account statements.
7. Prepares information needed for the interim and year end hospital financial statement audits.
8. Prepares information for month end closing process and assists with variance analysis.
9. Performs patient level detail analysis of reimbursement to develop contractual allowance
models.
10. Prepares service line analysis as needed to support decision making.
11. Prepares pro-formas as needed to support decision making.
12. Works with department managers and other leaders to enhance understanding of financial
information.
13. Ability to assist Manager, Financial Reporting with other duties as they may arise.
15. Serves as a backup for payroll processing. Prepares bi-weekly payroll in absence of the
Payroll Specialist.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 5 years of Accounting experience
- Displays good customer service skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous healthcare experience
- Experience with Meditech computer system
