Summary/Objective
Northern Illinois Food Bank is seeking a Child Nutrition Program Summer Food Receiver to provide support for the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program. This position will:
- Act as a front-line delivery receiver to confirm program deliveries are accurate.
Essential Functions
- Receive daily food orders from the vendor
- Communicate with the Child Nutrition Team or Team Manager when delivery is not on-time or inaccurate
- Check delivery received against invoices and orders
- Report any discrepancies to the vendor driver and Child Nutrition staff or Child Nutrition Manager
- Assist drivers with palletizing and packing food into coolers as needed
- Track non-delivered meals
- Other duties that may be requested by the Program Manager in order to properly operate the program or contribute to the work of NIFB.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Detail oriented
- Must be available 5:00 am – 8:00 am Monday - Friday
- Strong Verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a refrigerated dock and cooler
- Must be able to bend and lift 20lbs
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines as well as warehouse equipment such as manual pallet movers.
Physical Demands
while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. This position operates mostly in our warehouse cooler.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. This position is approximately 15 hours a week Monday – Friday from June 2 – August 8, 2025, from 5:00 am – 8:00 am.
Position Location
This position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.
Travel
No travel is required.
