What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) position at Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists?
Rapidly expanding private podiatry practice is seeking a full time Certified Public Accountant to provide proactive financial and analytical support to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Job duties include but not limited to:
- Evaluate Return On Investment (ROI) analysis.
- Prepare performance reporting and presentations.
- Create forecasting and other strategic modeling.
- Manage special projects.
- Prepares and reviews the annual forecast/budgeting process from initiation to Board approval for their area of responsibility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent information; secures salary information.
- Build and maintain budget and forecast templates for use by managers.
- Create ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis for use by managers to evaluate their businesses, including industry benchmarking.
- Ability to sort/mine large sets of data from multiple data sources (General ledger, CRM, Excel, Pivot Tables) to identify trends/variances per location.
- Prepares monthly occupancy and salary variance reports for provider payroll.
- Collects/organizes financial application information and inputs into financial model.
- Responsible for monthly P&L reporting.
- Responsible for reporting financial health of company.
- Reviews vendor contracts.
- Reviews and updates regulatory and government annual reports/surveys/census.
- Possess strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Work with Accounting department to ensure accurate preparation of monthly financial statements (facilitate A/P, analyze GL account activity, prepare or review other supporting documentation).
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree/ masters degree preferred in accounting, finance or business management; strong project orientation, forecasting, budgeting and analytical skills; strong knowledge of Excel; QuickBooks and Pivot Table, excellent communication and organizational skills. Healthcare background a plus
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting or public accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
