National Award-Winning Engineering Firm is seeking a highly motivated Drainage / Water Resources Engineer to join their Illinois Transportation team. They are looking for a technically capable engineer who can develop relationships and eventually build their own team of dedicated stormwater professionals. Candidates will lead drainage studies, stormwater design, and plan production teams to successfully deliver state-wide transportation infrastructure projects. Candidates should have experience working on transportation projects in Illinois, preferably for IDOT and the Illinois Tollway, with direct involvement in stormwater components such as storm sewer, detention / retention basins, culverts, roadside ditches, and stormwater quality best management practices (BMPs).

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and drafters
- Interact and coordinate effectively with team members, subconsultants, clients, and other outside agencies
- Assist in the development of junior staff
- Prepare design calculations and technical reports for drainage studies
- Develop plans, profiles, specifications, and estimates for transportation and other water resources projects
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and contracts
- Participate in quality control / quality assurance
- Develop client relationships
