Responsibilities :
What you'll be challenged to do :
TranSystems is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer / Water Resource Engineer to join our Chicago, IL office! Work alongside roadway, highway, structural, transit, rail, and intermodal designers and construction inspectors on Phase I and Phase II projects.
This individual will be called on to work closely with other teams on multi-disciplinary projects and will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a unique and dynamic work environment.
Primary Responsibilities (others may be included) :
- Responsible for all phases of project development related to storm water management, flood plain studies, hydraulic analysis and design, IDOT Location Drainage Studies and storm water BMP selection.
- Analyze information and data to perform drainage design tasks.
- Make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and occasionally represent the organization in meetings to resolve important questions, and to plan and coordinate work.
- Receive instructions from the Project Manager or Senior Project Engineers as to the general results expected.
- Seek technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
- Responsible for accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and efficient conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
- Keep the Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project schedule or scope or additional services.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal network, and participating in professional societies.
- Perform as a staff advisor and consultant for technical specialty.
