Overview
With over 30 years in practice, one of the country's leading architectural & interior design firms specializing in life sciences, education, and workplace is actively seeking a Project Designer to join their San Diego office. The studio specializes in the design of laboratories, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and high-performance workplace environments, for clients working in the life sciences, electronics, mission-critical, education, and medicine.
With 180 staff, they provide programming, master planning, building, and interior design services, including laboratory, cGMP, and medical planning, to new and established companies, institutions, developers, and healthcare providers. Office locations include Mountain View, San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Diego.
Role Requirements
Individuals that are passionate about Building Design, driven, and looking for an opportunity to join a highly creative team are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have experience with entitlements and San Diego coastal issues. The successful candidate will possess a good foundational understanding of technical building planning is preferred for instant contribution, but the team is also open to someone eager to learn. Good presentation skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor with a Master's Degree preferred in ArchitectureMinimum of 7 years of work experience,
California License preferredFluency in 3D modeling and graphics softwareStrong Presentation skillsBroad understanding of Construction, Structural, and Building Service SystemsBroad understanding of Building and Municipal CodeConversant in Architectural history and contemporary theoryEffective verbal and written communication skillsExceptional organizational skillsAbility to work effectively on multiple projects and maintain deadlines in a team environmentExperience / Portfolio in Technology Orientated / Life Science Buildings preferred
