POSITION TITLE: Family Services Specialist
REPORTS TO: Emergency Services Program Manager
Hourly Rate: $13.79
Location: Grant County KY
FLSA: Non-exempt
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: The Family Services coordinator provides direct services and resources through program implementation to address the needs of low-income individuals and families across NKCAC’s service area.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides direct services/vouchers to individuals and/or families to meet emergency needs.
- Ensures all client household information is obtained for every client and entered into Agency databases to meet State and Federal program requirements.
- Ensures all referrals and referral follow-ups are entered into Agency databases.
- Provides excellent customer service to individuals and/or families, community partners, and local government officials.
- Administers assistance programs including, but not limited to: The Low-Income Energy Assistance Program, supplemental and emergency food programs, weatherization, and other various assistance programs.
- Maintains county and center files, customer records, and Agency databases, including adherence to privacy, record maintenance and retention policies.
- Administer and distribute emergency food and shelter program (EFSP) funding across NKCAC counties.
- Distribute and conduct county-specific programming and funds from discretionary accounts and fiscal court funds.
- Provides necessary administrative and programmatic documentation required for program compliance and grant reporting.
- Travel to other NKCAC neighborhood centers to provide support as needed.
- Conducts the designated community needs assessment surveys and customer satisfaction surveys with clients, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and active listening
- Degree in social work/human services preferred, High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in social work/human services preferred.
- Operational skills
- Computer experience, including Microsoft Office and internet research, and ability to learn specialized computer databases, as needed.
- Knowledge of northern Kentucky community, agencies and resources
- Excellent record keeping skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with people of diverse and varying sociology-economic backgrounds.
- Must have reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to sit at, read, and enter data on a computer for prolonged periods of time up to 100% of the time.
