CRISIS CLINICAL THERAPIST - TRAVERSE CITY - PART TIME

Primary duties of this clinical position involve the performance of Crisis Intervention, Jail Services and Authorization. This position works with law enforcement to provide case consultation, crisis intervention, service coordination, and referrals/linkage to resources for individuals, who were identified as requiring mental health/ substance use-related supports. This position functions as a member of a team to carry out the NLC

Essential Functions

• Provide crisis intervention services to police, school and hospital personnel, and community residents dealing with crisis situations. This includes referrals as well as diagnostic assessment and crisis intervention treatment.
• Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. Provides mobile response to a variety of community settings upon law enforcement's request. Referral, including homes, businesses, shelters, etc.
• Working knowledge of external agencies and providers and ability to assist requestors of service in linking to other providers when there is a need. Follow up with individuals when appropriate.
• Assure that customers with Limited English Proficiency or other special needs have available and receive appropriate assistance with respect to all CMHSP services, including access to and utilization of the PIHP grievance and appeal process.
• Provide consultation to other community agencies and professionals) police, courts, clergy, et.) as needed
• Participation in an on-call rotation schedule may be required after -hours, weekends or holidays.
• Participation in Quality Assurance case review procedures, including consumer satisfaction.
• Participate actively in staff development activities including unit meetings, supervisory meetings, community meetings, applicable conferences, and review of current literature regarding services.
• Work cooperatively with Law Enforcement, Primary Care Physicians, Local Courts, Family Independence Agencies, Schools, ISD, Substance Abuse and other providers to promote provision of quality community-based services.
• Provide emergency services to jail inmate and other clinical interventions as assigned.
• Participate in jail diversion activity as it relates to emergency services.
• Maintain knowledge of mental health symptomatology, intervention and treatment strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the State of Michigan as one of the following
• LMSW, LPC or Psychologist
• Limited licensure may be considered
• Licensed RN may be considered
• Must have a master’s degree in one of the following areas:
• Social work, Psychology or counseling
• Must have two (2) years of experience in the mental health field working with individuals who have Developmental Disabilities.
  

PAY: $30.00/ Hour, $45.00/ Hour on Holidays

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• This position may require irregular hours.
• This position may require travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available.
