About the Internship:
The Northern Lehigh Recreation Authority is seeking a motivated and community-minded intern to assist with seasonal programs, special events, and community outreach. This paid internship is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Recreation, Event Planning, Public Administration, Marketing, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
While most internships take place during the summer, we can tailor responsibilities and learning objectives based on the intern’s interests, skillset, and time of year. Whether your focus is programming, administration, or community engagement, we’ll shape the experience to help you grow professionally while supporting the NLRA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with summer camp programs and seasonal events (e.g., Cornhole Tournament, Day in the Park, Summer Concerts, Trunk or Treat, Candy Cane Hunt)
- Supporting program logistics, set-up, and on-site operations
- Creating promotional materials, managing social media, and developing outreach content
- Helping with registration, attendance tracking, and other administrative tasks
- Attending community meetings and supporting collaborative projects
- Engaging with families, volunteers, and partner organizations
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a college/university program or recently graduated (related fields preferred)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to work with diverse groups
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Must have reliable transportation and be available for some in-person events and programs
