What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Sedation/Anesthesia Assistant position at Northern Lights Dental Anesthesia?
Seeking a full medical, nursing, dental assistant or EMT to work with our growing practice. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in all phases of the anesthesia including pre-operative evaluation, induction and recovery. This includes becoming familiar with various airway management techniques, nasal intubation, capnography, pulse oximetry, vital signs and anesthetic agents.
- Work one on one with patients and their guardians to ensure a positive experience. This includes doing pre-operative interviews, post-operative instructions, and answering questions related to the anesthesia.
- Help with various administrative duties such as post-operative calls, patient paperwork completion, and helping maintain inventory.
Applicant must be comfortable speaking with patients and their parents directly and working in high-stress situations. A majority of our patients are pediatric and the right applicant will be ok working with children and their guardians. Upon hire additional training in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support will be mandatory. Additional job specific training related to anesthesia available on site after hire. Basic medical knowledge or training preferred but not required. Compensation based on experience.
Seeking a candidate to work 30 hours a week. Job requires early start time which varies. Standard start time is 6:00am.
