Northern Lights Locating and Inspection, Inc. was created in March of 2001 to provide services to clients with a need to protect their utility networks. Not just a ‘Paint and Flag’ service, Northern Lights delivers locating and inspection expertise that goes beyond that of traditional utility location. Northern Lights provides protection to our customers utility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have since expanded into Sewer Imaging, inspection, and locating sewer mains/laterals using the latest technology on the market. We also perform Inspection work/services on utility project throughout the United States.

JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department
including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing
company policies and practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Assist with or manage the processing of payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of hours,
laws.
- Assist in organizing and delivering training sessions and presentations, ensuring content is
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing
professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions;
openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but
investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale;
occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human
- Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or PHR Certification required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Dayshift work primarily, with occasional alternative shift work.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, foul odors, irritating noises, extreme weather conditions, and other
places, toxic chemicals, and electrical shock risk.
- Loud noise level environments.
- Employees are expected to have, utilize, maintain, and wear all Personal Protective Equipment
agency or management directive.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform field audits in various weather
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
