Responsibilities
- Coordinates and implements all aspects of recruitment, interviewing, screening, reference checking, selection, and pre-employment processing of all new employees.
- Support store management in developing their teams by actively recruiting for open positions.
- Coordinates new hire process for managing staff including orientation and new hire paperwork.
- Stay up to date on HR laws and regulations.
- Organize and maintain confidential employee files.
- Communicate and implement policies and programs to guarantee compliance to all employees. Handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Format information for internal and external communication memos, emails, presentations, reports
- Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human-resources policies and procedures.
- Instruct, train, and ensure management staff know how to interpret and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- HR activities such as resolving employee grievances, training managers in how to coach and discipline, and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Ability to answer employee questions and or concerns regarding Human Resource policy, procedures, or employee handbook interpretations.
- Assists Store Managers and/or Supervisors with employee inquiries, performance review process, coaching, counseling, and terminations.
- Assists with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Ensures Paycor is being maintained and used accordingly.
- Updates, monitors, and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on annual evaluations.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business need.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience, retail industry preferred.
- Understands the needs of timely recruitment strategies.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication abilities, exceptional follow-up, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Experience with multiple locations preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be passionate, results oriented, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Must be able to prove citizenship.
