What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service and Office Administrative Assistant position at Northern Nurseries Inc.?
We are seeking a part-time Customer Service and Office Administrative Assistant for our Northern Nurseries site in Fairport, NY. The position will begin in late February 2025 and continue through November 2025, depending on seasonal demands, with an expected workload of 15-30 hours per week. You may be required to work half a day on Saturdays.
Daily tasks include:
- Greeting customers as they arrive at the Site
- Answering phones
- Invoicing customers
- Entering receivers
- Perform data entry tasks, including inputting and updating customer information
- Performing daily closing reports
- Filing of customers’ information
- Maintain organized and accurate records, files, and documents
- And other specific duties as assigned
You must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision but must follow precise instructions that will be given to you, have excellent communication skills; and be proficient with Word and Excel. Preference will be given to those who have prior customer service and administrative experience.
Requirements for the position:
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to tolerate working outside in many weather conditions
- Must be punctual and on time
- Must be deadline and detail oriented
- Experience in horticulture is a plus
