Job Title : Human Resources Intern

Business Unit : Northern Plains Services, Inc.

Reports to : Director of Human Resources

Job Status : Temporary | Summer Internship

Compensation : $20 per hour

Schedule : M-TH 8 AM- 4 : 30 PM F 8 AM-Noon.

Travel included : 10% or less. As the need arises for crossover and job fairs.

Summary :

Northern Plains Services, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Intern. As an Intern you will work closely with the Recruiter, HR Assistant and Generalist to gain exposure to a variety of tasks and projects needed to support the HR department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities are, but are not limited to :

  • Facilitate pre-employment reference checks
  • Prepare talking points for weekly report out regarding # of applications and open roles.
  • Prepare slides related to HR initiatives that will be broadcasted thought our locations.
  • Shadow Interviews
  • Shadow and preform applicant phone screenings
  • Data Entry Project within HRIS
  • Assist with orientation preparation
  • Attend hiring events
  • Work on uploading historical employee files from database to ADP
  • Aid with executing post hire checklist

  • Demonstrates extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft products including but not limited to word, Teams, & Excel.
  • Asks insightful questions and effectively applies the response to complete tasks.
  • Proactively takes initiative during downtime or while awaiting direction, Identifying and tackling tasks independently when needed.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Education and Training :

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving status which includes but is not limited to NPR driver provisions.
  • Environmental :

  • Office Environment.
