Office Location : Mainly in Fairfax, travel to Falls Church and Alexandria offices are required as needed
FLSA status : Non-exempt / hourly
Schedule : Monday-Friday during business hours, nights or weekends may be needed occasionally
About the Role :
Northern Virginia Ophthalmology Associates is a busy 18-doctor ophthalmology practice. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Surgical Coordinator to join our team in the healthcare industry. As the Lead Surgical Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the surgical scheduling process, ensuring that all procedures are scheduled efficiently and effectively. You will work closely with physicians, surgical facilities, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that all surgical procedures are properly coordinated and executed. Your role will be critical in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care possible.
Responsibilities :
- Scheduling Responsibilities (80%)
Collaborate closely with physicians, surgical facilities, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the seamless coordination and execution of surgical procedures.
Management Responsibilities (20%)
Work with the team to document and update the surgical scheduling process, ensuring that all procedures are scheduled in an efficient and effective manner.
Work with the team to maintain precise and current records of all surgical procedures to support operational integrity.
Conduct training sessions for staff to ensure adherence to the established requirements of surgical facilities and compliance with relevant regulations.
Execute additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned to support overall departmental goals.
Skills :
As the Surgical Coordinator, you will utilize your strong organizational and communication skills daily. You will need to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software will ensure that all records and schedules are properly maintained. Additionally, your ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment will be essential in ensuring that all surgical procedures are properly coordinated and executed. Your bilingual skills in English and Spanish will be an asset in communicating with our diverse patient population.
