03/09/2025 - WSI's will attend staff training on the evening of May 28th, and will attend one to two further trainings throughout the summer.
- WSI's will lead the administration of established curriculum.
- WSI's will oversee program leads and assistants in all classes running, and are responsible for the coaching effectiveness of staff and the quality of the program, with help of recreation coordinator and site supervisor.
- WSI's will oversee child behavior, and implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
- WSI's will arrive early, know and fully execute the plan for each day, engage 100% throughout the program, teach general disciplines of each activity, enhance skill development, build relationships with youth, and communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
- WSI's will show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-verbal's.
- WSI's will keep track of time worked and record on timesheet.
- WSI's will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding vacation requests, program issues, etc.
- WSI's will be required to work up to two Saturday swim lessons, or two evening swim lessons.

Job Summary:
Northfield Public Schools Community Education is now accepting applications to fill WSI staffing needs for summer swim lessons. WSI's will oversee program leads and assistants in all classes running, and are responsible for the coaching effectiveness of staff and the quality of the program, with the help of the site supervisor and recreation coordinator. WSI's will also instruct youth of the pre-k - middle school age. WSI's will be scheduled for program specific hours, usually mornings 4 - 5 days a week, beginning on June 9, and running through mid August. Aquatic staff will be required to sign up to work two additional swim lesson dates on a Saturday or weekday evening, and will attend one to two further training sessions throughout the summer. WSI's should schedule absences around scheduled work time. Family vacations, sport camps, etc. are to be expected, however absences may not exceed five days, and no vacation will be granted during the first or last week of programming, unless in rare circumstances, and approved by the recreation coordinator in advance. There will be no general recreation programming June 30 - July 4, 2025.
