POSITION SUMMARY
A Foreperson is responsible for leading onsite construction crews, understanding construction plans, work planning and execution, equipment management, material ordering, quality, interaction with subcontractors, and ensuring all work is performed safely. Effective communication with all team members is important. The Foreperson is expected to work safely and safeguard members of the public and co-workers on and around the project site. Northland performs projects in the highway and civil construction markets. The Foreperson is required to have appropriate experience and technical training in this field.
This is a full-time seasonal hourly position, working between May and November (weather permitting). This position requires working overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.

BENEFITS
Starting wage $45.00-$53.00/hour depending on Union Contract. Benefit package is offered through the Union. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life/ADD, long and short-term disability, member assistance, a pension plan, and a vacation fund.
- Previous experience and technical training in highway and civil construction.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Class A CDL License is preferable.
- Physically fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and walk for long durations in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone.
- Ability to listen, solve problems, and take direction from others while being a team player and helping to train less experienced employees.
- Ability to follow all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Completion of additional project specific skills training as required.
