Senior Accountant
Northland Control Systems, Inc. is looking for a Senior Accountant out of our Milpitas, California office.
Reporting to the Technical Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is to support the finance department and Northland Controls by performing a variety of duties such as maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements, preparing financial reports, assisting/leading audits, and account reconciliation.
The Senior Accountant will also work with the operations team directly to monitor the project portfolios including revenue billing and expense tracking.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant
- 7 years of accounting/finance related experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- SAP or NetSuite experience is beneficial
DUTIES
- Key financial business partner to the Project Managers (PMs)
- Prepare and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and other ad-hoc analysis for various business units and total company.
- Partner with Operation teams to identify business issues and implement strategic solutions.
- Develop and implement cost savings ideas to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines.
- Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits.
- Intercompany reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Work close with AR team to help issue the invoices if needed and manage sales tax.
- Document internal processes/controls as well as identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement and solve problems.
- Assist the Finance Team and Company as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

7 years’ experience in accounting.
