Job Tasks/Duties
- Greet golfers in a friendly and professional manner, offering drinks, snacks, and assistance as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries and requests promptly and courteously.
- Provide information on beverage and snack options available on the course.
- Drive the beverage cart along the golf course, stopping at regular intervals to serve golfers.
- Ensure that a wide range of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks are available and well-stocked.
- Prepare and serve drinks in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Accurately handle cash, process transactions, and operate a POS system.
- Keep track of inventory levels on the beverage cart and notify the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Replenish beverages and snacks from the clubhouse as needed.
- Ensure the cart is clean, well-organized, and properly stocked at all times.
- Comply with all local laws regarding alcohol service and ensure responsible alcohol consumption.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the cart, equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for both staff and customers.
- Collaborate with other golf course staff to ensure smooth operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in other duties as assigned by the F&B Supervisor or Director of F&B.

- Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
- Consistently follows all proper sanitation practices, including those related to personal hygiene.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Promotes member satisfaction through recognition and introductions to others.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to drive a golf cart safely and responsibly.
- Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, and lift up to 30 lbs throughout the shift.
- Must be 18 years of age or older, in accordance with local laws governing alcohol service in Lake County, IL.
- Prior customer service or food and beverage experience is preferred, but not required.
- Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions (sun, rain, heat, etc.).
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, especially during peak golf seasons.
- Must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment and interacting with a variety of people.
- One year or more related experience and/or training.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Food safety certification.
- Alcoholic beverage certification.
- Is of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
