Overview

Position:
The Community Health Worker/MNsure Navigator is responsible for working together with our partners to provide outreach and immediate enrollment into private and public insurance programs under MNsure, the state of Minnesota's health care exchange. The MNsure Navigator will assist individuals to understand health insurance options, health plan costs and benefits, and enroll the individual in the most appropriate health insurance plan.
As a representative of NorthPoint, this position also advocates in implementing our mission of Partnering to create a Healthier Community through participation in community outreach efforts and events. This is a highly visible position requiring exceptional communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task. The position requires travel and occasional nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and five years of experience working in a community health, human services, public health or related field, or Associates degree in community health, human services, public health or related field and three years of experience working in a human services or health care environment or Community Health Worker Certification with two years of experience working in a human services or health care environment. Bachelor's degree in community health, human services, public health or related field with one year of experience, preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to interact effectively with people of various ages, ethnic, cultural backgrounds.
- Must have valid Minnesota Driver's License with good driving record, and current insurance with the ability to meet NorthPoint's driving requirements.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
- Bilingual English and Spanish, required.
