Job Summary
NP Service Company is seeking seasonal part-time or full-time, self-motivated Lawn and Grounds Crew Member(s) to help maintain a beautiful environment for a private homeowners’ association in Northport. The Grounds Crew Member will assist in keeping client properties well-maintained by performing a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks. These tasks include mowing lawns, trimming hedges, pruning bushes, edging walkways, and completing miscellaneous grounds and building upkeep duties.
Principal Duties
- Maintain the aesthetic quality of client lawns and grounds by performing various landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Ensure grounds and outdoor spaces are properly cared for, including pruning bushes, hedges, and trees, as well as cleaning up debris.
· Assist with leaf cleanup tasks, including using blowers, rakes, and other tools for efficient debris removal.
- Take responsibility for seasonal lawn care and landscape maintenance, ensuring that yards, flower beds, and shrubbery are maintained to client specifications.
- Report on the status of work orders, ensuring that all issues related to grounds and lawn maintenance are addressed in a timely manner.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
- Operate and maintain ground equipment, including walk-behind and riding mowers, gasoline-powered yard tools, and hand tools for various landscaping tasks.
- Stay updated on best practices and technologies to enhance the quality of lawn and ground maintenance.
- Use property management software to track maintenance requests and progress on grounds work.
- Support the Assistant Property Manager in larger-scale landscaping projects and initiatives.
- Track and report the use of landscaping materials, including ordering tools, supplies, and plants as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including service logs and reports on tasks performed.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Property Manager to ensure ground operations align with overall client goals and expectations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization for ground equipment and materials.
- Work independently and manage time effectively to meet the demands of the role.
- Occasional participation in physical tasks, such as overseeing snow removal or assisting with larger projects, may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Knowledge of lawn maintenance and basic landscaping practices.
- Experience in residential landscaping is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License; must be insurable.
- Background check required.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Ability to work on a variety of surfaces and in different outdoor environments for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for long periods while performing tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming grass.
- Early morning, weekend, and holiday availability may be required as prearranged.
