NorthRock’s internship program attracts top undergraduate students interested in exposure to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry. Over the course of 12 weeks, our interns gain valuable experience and can further their interests in the financial services industry through challenging real-world projects and direct interaction with a variety of leaders/professionals.
Our Corporate Development team plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the NorthRock, contributing to the firm’s overall growth through mergers, acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
NorthRock is currently seeking a highly motivated Corporate Development Intern to join our team for the summer of 2025. This internship will offer the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the RIA space, work on meaningful projects, and build relationships with industry professionals. Due to the nature of this intern’s responsibilities – and NorthRock’s internship program generally – this position requires the ability to work on site at our Minneapolis office.
Essential Functions
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and potential acquisition/partnership opportunities.
- Financial Analysis: Work with the firm’s Managing Partner in the creation of financial models, platform valuation analysis, and the support of various due diligence processes.
- Project Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams at NorthRock to support various corporate integration projects.
- Strategic Insights: Analyze data and provide actionable insights to help shape the firm’s decision-making as it relates to identification and recruitment of M&A targets.
- Reporting & Presentation: Assist in preparing presentations for senior leadership at target firms, summarize findings of industry reports, and offer recommendations following prospect meetings.
Required Education & Experience
- Pursing a bachelor’s degree in related field such as finance, financial planning, business or general management
- In 3rd or 4th year of college undergraduate program
Our Compensation & Benefits
The hourly rate for this role is $20.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for Employee Sick & Safe Time (ESST).
