Northshore Academy is a small, therapeutic day school for approximately 40 children, grades K-6, with significant social-emotional-behavioral challenges.
Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of a multi-grade classroom. Learners have various social, emotional and behavioral health challenges. Meets the needs of unique learners in the classroom through provision of accommodations, modifications and collaboration with related therapists.
Specific Duties: Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and ensures the success and safety of the students. Collaborate with staff to ensure the safety of the students in all environments. Participate in training in relevant areas. Please see specific job description for complete details.
Qualifications: Experience working with students with social, emotional and behavioral health challenges.
Education/Training/Experience: MA DESE Certification required and Certification in Special Education with Moderate Disabilities or Early Childhood. Excellent teamwork, communication and organization skills needed. Must be able to collaborate and communicate with team members in a positive manner. Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience with this population preferred.
