Join our dynamic team as an Event Manager, where you'll play a pivotal role in bringing exceptional events to life. As part of our dedicated events team, you'll oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of more than 100 diverse indoor and outdoor events annually.

Strategically located between New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, The Harbor Center stands as an economic development engine and quality-of-life enhancement for St. Tammany Parish. Our state-of-the-art facility features:
- 18,000 square feet of flexible, column-free exhibit space with 30-foot ceilings and an additional newly, completed expansion of 9,000 square feet of flexible, column-free event space
- Versatile spaces accommodating 25 to 2,500 people
- Two-bay loading dock and drive-in ramp with 18'x18' door
- Extensive outdoor green space
- On-site catering facilities
About the Role
As Event Manager, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for event organizers to bring their vision to life, working closely with our operations team to ensure flawless event execution from initial planning through final breakdown. This position offers the perfect blend of creativity, customer service, and operational oversight for an experienced events professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end event planning and coordination for a diverse portfolio of events
- Serve as facility representative during site visits and manage event inquiries
- Oversee venue and equipment rental coordination
- Collaborate with operations team on staffing and equipment setup requirements
- Manage event execution from setup through breakdown
- Act as primary liaison between facility and event stakeholders including tenants, lessees, community groups, promoters, event organizers, and vendors (caterers, decorators, etc.)
- Coordinate with fire department for necessary event approvals and permits
- Coordinate with law enforcement and/or security companies to provide appropriate event security
- Maintain comprehensive event files including contracts, permits, insurance certificates, and billing documentation
- Develop detailed event cost estimates and manage associated invoicing
- Provide expert consultation on facility capabilities and setup options
- Supervise event personnel and volunteers during events
- Serve as duty manager when required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in event management or related field
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellence in customer service and stakeholder communication
- Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Experience in budget management and cost estimation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Additional Requirements
Regular workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Frequent nights, weekends, and occasional holidays for events as required. The position will work 40 hours per week based on event schedule.
