Position Highlights:
- Position: Phlebotomist II
- Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 - $28.00. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
- Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $19.31 base pay hourly rate beginning with May 2025 paychecks.
- Location: Northwest Community Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Part Time, 20 hours
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 1pm-9:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays
What you will need:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess and treat all age groups of patients from neonatal to geriatric; implements treatment based on the developmental stages of the patient.
Performs venipuncture, finger sticks, heel sticks, POC testing (if offered at the draw site location), and other specimen collection according to policy and procedure. Instructs the patient in the collection of urine specimens and other patient collected specimens. High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Identifies correct patient before collecting specimen; labels all specimens accurately before leaving patient. Completes phlebotomy procedure and specimen process for all timed specimen pick-ups, STATs (based on lab scope of services by location) and special lab orders within established time limits.
Registers the patient in the relevant and appropriate electronic systems, inputs outpatient laboratory orders into the electronic system at the point of service according to compliance regulations; researches and resolves physician orders needing clarification by contacting the physician or office as needed.
What you will need:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems required.
- Certification in approved school of phlebotomy or equivalent preferred.
- Current CPR certification or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
- ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- If responsible for collecting Nursing Homes, must possess a valid Illinois class "D" driver's license and satisfy the annual Drivers Motor Vehicle verification review.
