What is an EMT?
An Emergency Medical Technician is trained in pre-hospital life saving measures, to bridge the gap between a patient's critical situation and higher care at a hospital. In your EMT Academy training, you will learn to assess and manage interventions for cardiac, respiratory and trauma emergencies. You will learn the pathophysiology behind common ailments and injuries, and how to recognize when a patient is able to be managed by your care or needs a higher level of intervention.
Course Type:
This is a 8-week long hybrid course. Weeks 1-7 will be online and at your own pace. Week 8 will be in-person to complete your psychomotor skills and scenario-based training at our training center.

This course has been developed for all individuals desiring to perform emergency medical care as an EMT. No prior experience or training is required to apply. To be eligible for the state EMT certification exam, the applicant must be:
Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficiency in understanding vital signs, including the correct measurement and interpretation of values.
Capability to operate an oversize vehicle with smoothness and safety.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Superb time management capabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Admission Requirements:
This course has been developed for all individuals desiring to perform emergency medical care as an EMT. No prior experience or training is required to apply. To be eligible for the state EMT certification exam, the applicant must be:
- 18 years of age
- Able to read, understand and communicate in English
- Able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Have had a driver's license for a minimum of 2 years and have no more than 2 incidents on their driving record
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
