The Senior Procurement Specialist - Indirect plays a key role in procurement operations, responsible for managing complex projects, developing strategic initiatives, and driving cost optimization across a range of indirect spend categories including facilities, professional services, marketing, travel, office supplies and IT. This role is responsible for balancing tactical execution with strategic initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and delivering measurable value to the organization. This role demands a deep understanding of procurement processes, supplier negotiations, and market analysis. The Senior Procurement Specialist – Indirect will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure procurement efforts align with business objectives and organizational goals.

Education

Work Experience
6 - 8 years Proven experience in sourcing indirect categories and managing medium to high-value contracts
6 - 8 years Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while fostering long-term partnerships.
6 - 8 years Prior experience in senior or lead procurement role, preferably in indirect procurement
6 - 8 years Hands-on experience in developing and executing category plans

Essential Functions
- Lead sourcing activities for indirect categories, including competitive bidding processes, while identifying opportunities for cost savings, supplier consolidation, and process efficiencies to deliver optimal value and ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and resellers by ensuring alignment with organizational needs, conducting regular performance reviews, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvement to enhance overall supplier performance
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize spend and deliver cost savings for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on negotiating favorable terms, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, and identifying opportunities for renegotiation or consolidation to maximize value and drive cost efficiencies
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs, align strategies with business objectives, ensure timely delivery of goods and services, and act as a liaison between departments to implement procurement activities and address inquiries effectively
- Analyze spend data and procurement trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, inform sourcing strategies, and generate procurement reports with key performance metrics to support decision-making and track progress toward organizational goals
- Manage and execute procurement projects, including competitive bidding processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and supplier onboarding, ensuring timely completion, adherence to scope, and alignment with organizational goals
- Streamline procurement processes by adopting best practices to enhance operational efficiency, while ensuring all activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
- Generate and present procurement reports and key performance metrics to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Support the integration and optimization of procurement technologies, including catalog management and e-sourcing tools
- Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
- Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
