- Hourly Pay: $35.00 - $45.00
- Benefits: Union Laborer 242 or 252
- Schedule: 6:00AM Monday- Friday with some weekends

What Are We Looking For
Northwest Cascade has an immediate need for a Grade Checker to join its team. The primary responsibility of the Grade Checker will be to support our mainline crews in the installation of underground utilities. The Grade Checker will also have the opportunity to:
- Reads and understands blueprints, sketches, building plans, and drawings.
- Sets grade stakes to guide earth moving equipment operators in sloping roads and fill embankments, using measuring instruments and hand tools
- Reads survey stakes along right-of-way to determine grade specification for embankments.
- Measures horizontally and vertically, in specified ratio, from survey stake to juncture of embankment and initial excavation, using survey rod and eye level.
- Sets grade stakes and chalk-marks excavation reference points on stake.
- Repeats measuring and staking at specified intervals to form horizontal stake line.
- Observes excavating activities to verify conformance to stake references and notifies equipment operators or supervisor of deviations.
- Meet production and scheduling demands
- Communicate with Foreman and other crew members
- Operate safely in close quarters and around all types of utilities
- Inspect and maintain equipmentreport defects immediately
- Ensure that crews comply with site rules and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate will be an experience Grade Checker with the following qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings and plans
- Knowledge of fine grading operations
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Grade Checker
- Job offers made by Northwest Cascade Inc. will be contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, and background check, as applicable.
