Position Summary:
The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for leadership and direct supervision to Aquatics department staff and programming.
Requirements:
* College degree in Physical Education, Health Fitness or Recreation, or a minimum of 2 years programming experience in a YMCA or similar community service organization.
* Current Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
* Previous swimming experience.
* Must have demonstrated skills working with youth and adults, member relations, staff training & supervision, program development & planning.
* Swimming instruction experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
* Provides leadership & direct supervision to Aquatics department staff.
* Provides Lifeguarding course instruction.
* Reviews & analyzes program evaluations, enrollment and participation reports.
* Develops and implements programs of high impact that complement the YMCA mission.
* Is present for after-school and Saturday swimming instruction/programs.
* Provides 20 hours of swim lesson instruction per week to both youth and adults.
* Is available to cover lifeguard shifts as needed.
* Teaches the YMCA Character Development Program of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility as part of the lesson program.
Full-time, 40 hours per week
