Job Function:The principal shall serve as the educational leader of the staff and school
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, Master’s Degree in School Administration or a related field, and possess be willing to obtain a School Administrator certification.
- Five years of educational experience. School administration preferred.
- Demonstrated classroom teaching ability.
- Experience supervising and evaluating staff.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience and ability to develop, implement, and evaluate instructional curricula.
- Demonstrated knowledge of State Content Standards and Benchmarks, Literacy Essentials, PSAT, SAT, MSTEP/MME, NWEA,Work Keys and the local board adopted curriculum.
- Classroom assessment and analysis, data driven instruction and decision-making, and State/Federal funding sources (Title I, II, 31a, 31n, etc.).
- Focus on student achievement, 6-12 curricular development, alignment, and implementation with data accountability and reporting to determine existing and future programming.
- Further duties/responsibilities will be determined by the Superintendent and Board of Education based upon the candidate’s talents, experiences, abilities.
