The Computer Support Specialist is responsible for providing on-site and/or remote support for computer systems and peripherals in a K-12 environment. Supports troubleshooting and repair of operating systems, applications, and hardware. This position will require occasional travel to programs and school districts within the NWESD service area which includes Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties. The primary workstation will be the NWESD district office in Anacortes.

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent and three years’ experience in computer support which demonstrates knowledge of troubleshooting and repair in a computing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted which provides the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. A , Microsoft, Google, or other computer certifications are desirable, although not required. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required.

Work is performed in an office environment. Routine travel is required to visit local school districts as well as for workshops and conferences. Sitting for extended periods of time working on at a computer terminal is common. Lifts and carries a maximum of 40 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
Hazards: Those present in a normal office environment. Routine travel may pose potential hazards including driving in inclement weather conditions.
Salary Range
