Campus Police Officer | Part-Time - Northwest Florida State College

Campus Police Officers are directly accountable to the Chief of Police/Executive Director - Campus Safety & Security for the following duties and responsibilities:

The individual filling this position is expected to provide law enforcement duties across the Northwest Florida State College Campus.

• Abide by the Oath of Office and Code of Ethics.
• Patrol Campus buildings and grounds.
• Enforce laws, rules, and regulations on campus.
• Ensure timely communication with dispatch and supervisors.
• Lock and unlock doors.
• Report observed safety hazards.
• Provide escort services on campus.
• Establish public relations and provide general information.
• Provide written reports on investigations, complaints, security incidents etc.
• Collect, prepare, and document evidence for testifying in court.
• As a part of the college's risk management tool, annual mandatory compliance training is required.
• Perform administrative and other police officer's tasks as assigned.

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Completion of a Florida Approved Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Training program required.
• Passing score on the Florida State Officer Certification Exam required.
• Knowledge of current principles and practices of law enforcement.
• Must pass background investigation, physical examination and drug testing.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
• Law Enforcement field experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.

Hours: Up to 29 hours per week
