POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager of Public-Funded Partnerships (SMPFP) to join our team, focusing on developing revenue growth in the government funding sector. The primary goal of this role is to be a key contributor to expanding Northwest Harvest’s government-funded business portfolio.

A crucial role to our organization, the SMPFP position involves broad responsibility for identifying, developing, and maintaining the process of acquiring public-funded grants and contracts aligned with Northwest Harvest’s strategic initiatives, innovative programs, and operational capacities. The successful SMPFP incumbent collaborates regularly with the Director of Public-Funded Partnerships (DPFP) and supports the department with all aspects of securing funding opportunities – from packaging and submitting proposals to developing strategic relationships with key stakeholders.

This position is ideal for someone with extensive knowledge and expertise in public policy, public funding practices, and competitive bidding strategies and demonstrated experience in securing five and six-figure government grants. A strong candidate excels in planning and organization, communicates clearly through a variety of media, is exceptional at building partnerships, and works well independently and cooperatively towards shared goals.

This role engages in cutting hunger rates in half by 2028 through an elevated level of collaboration, creativity, and tenacity. The Senior Manager of Public Funded Partnerships will be a champion of careful stewardship of public funds while operating through an equitable and inclusive cultural lens.

Schedule: This position may require you to work occasional off-shift hours as necessary for special events.

Travel: Be responsive and adaptive to opportunities throughout Washington. This can include local and occasional travel to Eastern and Central WA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

 Proactively seek out new business opportunities, developing strategies for capture management to secure future projects

 Maintain a network with government funders to foster new business opportunities

 Support the end-to-end process of capture and proposal development for targeted opportunities

Partnership and Relationship Management

 Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with funders, identifying and addressing risks, and supporting contract compliance, including schedule and budget adherence

 Demonstrate flexibility, acting as both a supportive teammate and managing partner to contract funders

 Provide regular and timely updates to internal stakeholders, monitoring bid progress and bid outcomes

 Work in partnership with the Director of Public-Funded Partnerships (DPFP) and Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to advance the organization’s growth, build strategic partnerships with key public-sector funders, and drive fundraising efforts to expand impact

 Maintain relationships with key public sector funding partners, supporting the Director of Public Funded Partnerships in strategic collaborations

 Monitor and evaluate partnership performance, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives

Strategic Planning and Analysis

 Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify potential opportunities, considering capabilities, partnerships, and the competitive landscape

 Collaborate on compelling proposals, white papers, and other necessary documentation to support business development efforts

 Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic plans to expand the organization's reach and impact

 Work in partnership across the organization to inform program design and future process improvements

 Execute complex, strategically critical assignments and consult on high-risk, high-impact decisions

Financial Management

 Provide executive-level reporting on contract reviews, bid progress, and pipeline status

 Monitor the compliance requirements of all government contracts and ensure completion of requirements

 Contribute to financial reporting, budget development, and future forecasting while collaborating to build metrics for future performance evaluation

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Frequent contact with internal stakeholders at all levels engaging in extensive collaboration, communication, and strategic planning with various teams and departments to nurture a culture of collaboration, shared goals, and sustainable growth and organizational success.

External: Establishes regular communication with vendors, contractors, external partners, advocates, activists, and donors, while also forging new relationships within the government funding sector to drive revenue growth for the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A combination of the real-life experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.

Successful completion of a background check is required.

Knowledge of:

 Profound knowledge of business development strategies and tactics

 Understanding of non-profit organizations and the dynamics of the non-profit sector

 Familiarity with fundraising methodologies, grant writing, and revenue generation in a non-profit context

 Knowledge of strategic planning, market analysis, and financial management

 Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, PPT and Outlook, Teams, and Zoom, and ability to work efficiently and effectively with other organizational platforms such as ADP, SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics NAV systems

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, non-profit management, public administration, and/or a related field or an equal combination of education or relevant work experience with a personal orientation as a life-long learner.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of seven (7) years fundraising, revenue generation, sales, strategic partnership, and strategic business development in the non-profit sector, including management role, ideally in an entrepreneurial setting. Expertise in project management, particularly with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders. Experience leading key relationships to carry out a high level of satisfaction with complex work.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 Non- Profit experience is desired but not required.

 The ability to speak additional language(s) is desired but not required.

Salary : $113,350 - $147,920
