FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Chief Services Officer, the Director of Home and Community Based Services is a member of the Program Management Team, and the principal goals are to oversee and manage all aspects of CoAction’s programs for older adults, those with disabilities, and their caregivers. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring that older adults and those with disabilities receive the care and support they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives and their caregivers are supported to help reduce caregiver burden. This position requires a combination of program development, staff management, and financial management skills, as well as a deep commitment to serving others. This position will bring innovation, growth, and enhanced effectiveness to these programs.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Program Development: Develops and implements programs to meet the needs of older adults, those with disabilities, and their caregivers, including health and wellness programs, social activities, and educational opportunities.
- Integrate Core Competencies in short-term and long-term strategic leadership development.
- Staff Management: Manages the HCBS services staff, including hiring, training, and supervising employees.
- Budget Management: Develops and manages the HCBS services budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Develops and implements policies and procedures related to services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Community Outreach: Works closely with community organizations and healthcare providers to promote the Home and Community-Based Services program and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Participant Engagement: Ensures that participants are engaged in their services/program(s) and that their feedback is considered when developing programs and services.
- Quality Assurance: Develops and implements continuous quality improvement and assurance programs to ensure that services are provided in a timely and effective manner.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Services Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Skilled Nursing or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in aging services, including program development and staff management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to aging services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, participants, families, and healthcare providers.
- Experience managing budgets and developing financial reports.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare technologies.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate staff and promote a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards related to Medicaid, Healthcare, and Aging Services.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
