Paramedics and EMT professionals demonstrate a high level of competency in trauma and medical situations, and possess the knowledge and necessary skills to provide lifesaving interventions in a pre-hospital setting. Paramedics and EMTs provide out-of-hospital medical and trauma care per established protocols, under the direction of the Medical Director, appropriate for adults, children, and infants. Support to patient care and clinical service departments as priorities allow are collaboration opportunities for the Paramedic / EMT as well as providing assistance in educational activities of the Ambulance Services Department.
Fulltime position is eligible for a sign-on bonus!
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of accredited EMT course and successful passing of the National Registry or Iowa EMT test.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and / or REGISTRATIONS :
National or Iowa EMT Registry certification required. Current certification, or earliest available achievement of certification in : BLS, PHTLS, and Hazardous Response at the Operations Level. Current certification, or earliest available achievement of certification in Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporter Training.
Willingness to acquire additional certifications as required by the department.
