Job Description

The Business Instructor is a full-time, 9-month salaried position responsible for teaching a combination of Business and Economics courses. These responsibilities involve developing and implementing course syllabi, achieving student learning outcomes, evaluating student performance, record-keeping, and related activities. Related activities include, but are not limited to, advising, serving on various committees, participating in recruiting and retention efforts, and participating in professional activities and organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master of Business Administration with 18 graduate hours in Economics OR a Masters degree or higher in Economics
  • Community College teaching experience in Business preferred
  • Experience teaching online preferred
  • Experience with classroom technology preferred
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills required

REPORTS TO : District Director of Business Instruction

CONTRACT TERM : Nine (9) months

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Teach Business courses, primarily Economic and miscellaneous Business courses
  • Prepare, administer, and grade essays, tests, other assignments, and / or program assessment data
  • Maintain a record of student attendance as required by the Mississippi Community College Board
  • Submit grades, attendance, and outcomes according to the academic calendar
  • Manage timely engagement, grading, and communication
  • Participate in departmental meetings and committee assignments
  • Complete 15 hours of professional development each year
  • Ability to travel between campus locations
  • Establish effective relationships with college administration, faculty, staff, and students
  • Adhere to school policy as set in the Policy and Procedures Manual
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the District Director of Business
