What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Coordinator position at Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists?
NWOS is looking for candidates eager to learn and be a part of our growing company. The Practice Coordinator serves as the primary support for the physician and/or physician assistant, coordinates and schedules appointments, and obtains insurance authorizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers patient calls and provides excellent customer service
- Serves as the primary point of contact for patients, insurances, and providers
- Coordinates appointments with staff and provider's schedules
- Verifies insurance eligibility, authorization and on occasion, benefits.
- Manages incoming new patient referrals by scheduling patients and ensures all insurance referrals are in place prior to appointment.
- Completes patient registration at the time of scheduling meeting all MIP requirements.
- Completes non-surgical documents such as workers compensation and disability forms, processes/routes all provider mail in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent customer service
- Previous Medical Office experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
