What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduling Coordinator position at Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists?
The Scheduling Coordinator serves as the primary support for the physician and or physician assistant in regards to coordinating and scheduling follow up appointments, and any other required appointments as determined by the physicians.
NWOS is closed all weekends and major holidays. No night shifts or on-call.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answers patient calls and provides excellent customer service
- Serves as the primary point of contact for patients, insurances, and providers
- Coordinates appointments with staff and provider's schedules
- Verifies insurance eligibility, authorization and on occasion, benefits.
- Manages incoming new patient referrals by scheduling patients and ensures all insurance referrals are in place prior to appointment.
- Completes patient registration at the time of scheduling meeting all MIP requirements.
- Completes non-surgical documents such as workers compensation and disability forms, processes/routes all provider mail in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous Medical Office experience preferred, but not required
- Graduated from an accredited medical office program preferred, but not required
SHIFT:
- Monday through Friday, Day shift. No nights, weekends, or major holidays.
