This is a temporary position. 

JOB SUMMARY

The Materials Technician is responsible for assisting in inventory management through cycle counting, regular audits, and efficient receiving and consumption processes. They will be the primary employees responsible for diligent receiving, stocking, and replenishment in the department, and will use material handling equipment regularly in their duties. They are responsible for properly preparing, packaging, and shipping supplies and packages from our facility through FedEx, Alaska Airlines Gold Streak, and other shipping methods as needed.

 Avero Diagnostics operates on a 24/7/365 basis individuals may be required to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.  Schedule flexibility with and without advanced notice is required.

 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Tracks and manages inventory to ensure availability while preventing overstock and waste, troubleshooting discrepancies, and resolving issues to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Executes scheduled cycle counts and provides accurate, timely updates on stock levels and inventory-related issues, notifying leadership about potential reorder adjustments.
  • Ensures timely completion of supply requests and replenishments while coordinating with the Materials Management team to maintain appropriate stock levels in active storage locations.
  • Verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, documents damages or discrepancies, and maintains department logs and records.
  • Prepares, labels, and quality-checks boxes for shipment in compliance with established guidelines, coordinating with courier teams to ensure timely local deliveries.
  • Communicates shipment statuses and documents completed orders while resolving supply issues to maintain strong client relationships.
  • Prepares and organizes client supply shipments, adhering to company policies, SOPs, and turn-around times, and enforces quality standards for all deliveries.
  • Utilizes Inventory Management System (IMS) and Client Relationship Management (CRM) software for daily operations and reporting.
  • Shares knowledge and cross-trains with team members to ensure business continuity during peak times or coverage gaps, actively participating in training and team meetings.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships with other departments, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Performs assembly, relocation, or other support tasks as needed and completes additional assignments as directed by department leadership.
  • Adheres to all quality assurance, safety, and company-wide policies while participating in initiatives to improve processes and performance.

 EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE 

  • A high school Diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is a plus.
  • Active and valid US State-Issued Driver’s License with acceptable motor vehicle record as defined and approved by the company’s vehicle insurance carrier. 

 EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required:
    1. Inventory-focused work 
    2. Warehouse or pick-pack-ship environment
  • Laboratory and/or healthcare environment experience is a plus.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position operates in a fast-paced office and lab environment, requiring adherence to daily workload demands, potential exposure to chemicals, and the use of personal protective equipment and universal precautions.
  • The role involves regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, printers, phones, and mobile devices, in a work environment with noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The position may require exerting up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, twenty-five pounds frequently, and negligible force constantly to move objects.
  • Regular activities include talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, grasping, reaching, and performing repetitive movements with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Specific vision abilities include close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus for tasks such as data analysis, reading reports, transcribing, viewing computer monitors, and legally operating a motor vehicle.
