Northwest Pipe Fittings, a locally owned, independent wholesale distributor, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team across a five-state region. We pride ourselves on our commitment to service, product expertise, and inventory, distributing a wide range of products including plumbing, hydronic heating, utility, waterworks, water well, irrigation, filtration, and metering technology products and systems. The Sales Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of the company.
The Sales Manager will oversee and lead the activities of the Sales Department, this includes inside and outside sales functions. The Sales manager will ensure that established sales goals and growth activities of the company are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to the sales team.
- Motivates and encourages sales team to ensure quotas are met.
- Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new opportunities.
- Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
- Assigns territory and sets quotas for sales teams.
- Consults with existing and potential customers to understand their needs; identify and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
- Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies.
- Collaborate with all departments and store locations
- Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses.
- Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
- Hire and trains sales staff.
- Organizes and oversees the schedules, territories, and performance of all sales staff
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in collaboration with HR and in accordance with company policy
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or similar role in a relevant industry
- Strong understanding of sales performance metrics and KPIs (key performance indicators)
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- BS/BA in Sales or similar qualification demonstrating equivalent knowledge and experience
- Prior experience leading a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Valid Driver’s License required;
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Travel required
