Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical/Controls Maintenance Technician to join our client's team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical and control systems in our client's facility. You will work closely with our clients to ensure the smooth operation of their equipment and systems, and to identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Viable candidates will have a Journeyman's license in the State of Michigan, programming and troubleshooting skills, (preferably with Allen-Bradley), Safety, Health and Environment knowledge, Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, a good understanding and certification in LOTO, the ability to troubleshoot PLCs and Ladder logic, and also possess the self-motivated mentality and be committed to high-performance. Experience within a food processing company is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of electrical and control systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot any issues with electrical and control systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and other equipment
- Install new electrical and control systems as needed
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide customized solutions
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and systems using diagnostic tools and techniques
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to coordinate maintenance schedules and provide updates on progress
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations at all times
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical or controls maintenance preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and controls maintenance in an industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and PLCs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing motors, drives, and other electrical equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergency maintenance as needed
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to electrical and control systems
