Job Summary :
As the Federal Tax Counsel you will be responsible for providing legal advice and expertise on all federal tax matters for our client. As a federal tax SME you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal tax laws and regulations as well as identify opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax law and a deep understanding of federal tax codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on all federal tax matters
Stay uptodate on changes and updates to federal tax laws and regulations
Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues
Draft and review legal documents related to federal tax matters
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify tax savings opportunities
Assist with tax planning and strategy development
Represent clients in federal tax audits and disputes
Stay current on industry trends and developments related to federal tax laws
Train and mentor junior tax team members
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in at least one state
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a tax attorney with a focus on federal tax law
Strong understanding of federal tax codes and regulations
Experience with tax planning and strategy development
Excellent research and analytical skills
Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience representing clients in federal tax audits and disputes is preferred
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
