Position Details: We are hiring teachers for an after school program at Charleroi Middle/High School which is scheduled to run March 18, 2025 - May 22, 2025, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 - 5:30 PM. No class on April 17th for Easter Break. Teachers will have 3.25 hours of instruction time 1 additional hour for planning per day. This position will also require 12 hour of orientation and professional development.
Position Summary:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5's Migrant Education Program is seeking teachers for an afterschool program. Teachers will plan, instruct, and assess Migratory/English Language Learner students through on-site instruction and will accompany them during educational activities. The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards. This is an exciting opportunity for teachers to make a lasting impact with diverse students! The part-time, contracted position reports to the Migrant Student Support Specialists and Program Supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate
- Required state clearances to work with students
Desired Qualifications:
- Teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with migratory students and/or English Language Learners
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Create and utilize lesson plans following the Pennsylvania Department of Education guidelines
- Provide on-site instruction to afterschool program students
- Accompany students during educational activities
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual students
- Maintain accurate and complete records for each student
- Implement and enforce all policies and rules
- Participate in required professional development
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, teacher aides, partners, coordinators, and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
This job operates in an afterschool program setting. Incumbent must have the ability to monitor students and check work in classrooms with a variety of seating and desk organization. Candidate is required to arrive on time to the teaching location.
