Position Details: We are hiring a teacher's aide for an after school program at Charleroi Middle/High School which is scheduled to run March 18, 2025 - May 22, 2025, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 - 5:30 PM. No class on April 17th for Easter Break. The aide will work 2:15 - 6:30 PM. This 4.25 hours/day will include riding bus with students. This position will also require 12 hour of orientation and professional development.
Position Summary:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit 5's Migrant Education Program is seeking teacher aides for an afterschool program. Teacher aides will provide on-site support to teachers of Migratory/English Language Learner students and accompany them during educational activities. The primary goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact with diverse students! The part-time, contracted position reports to the Migrant Student Support Specialists and Program Supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Required state clearances to work with students
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and another language based on the program's needs
- Experience working with migratory students and/or English Language Learners
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support to afterschool teachers and students
- Accompany students during educational activities
- Help teachers create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
- Differentiate support to meet the needs and abilities of individual students
- Implement and enforce all policies and rules
- Participate in required professional development
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, teachers, partners, coordinators, and supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
This job operates in an afterschool program setting. Incumbent must have the ability to support teachers in monitoring students and checking work in classrooms with a variety of seating and desk organization. Candidate is required to arrive on time to the afterschool location.
