Our facility offers 55-degree wine storage, direct to consumer shipping and transportation consolidation options. What You Will Be Doing:

The Operations Manager directs and coordinates all activities of Northwest Wine Services distribution warehouse by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works with the Director of Operations to establish and maintain all operational, safety and security procedures for the efficient, accurate and cost-effective movement of products through the warehouse.
  • Oversees, coordinates, and streamlines all warehouse activities.
  • Coordinates the operational scheduling, loading and unloading of trucks by directly interfacing with NWS employees and managers.
  • Ensure smooth, efficient communication with Sales; constantly working to improve and expand that communication towards common goals.
  • Serves as the direct liaison between the Director of Operations and the day to day activities of the warehouse. Reports daily on topics of concern within the facility and is available for informational summaries, projections and strategic planning.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with staff members of various levels and departments to share information, refine communication and build a team-oriented culture.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Overall Management of all subordinate supervisors and employees in the Warehouse, Shipping, Receiving and office departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Responsibilities include overseeing the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; projecting future needs and goals, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems from a managerial position, with the assistance of Human Resources, Management and supervisory staff when necessary.

  • Completely versed in the Warehouse Management systems of the facility at a level which allows resolution of all issues arising in normal operations.

  • Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
  • Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments.

Education and/or Experience:

Preferred 2-4 years related industry experience and/or B.A.

Shift:

  • 3 pm to 11:30 pm – must be flexible based on customer demands and business objectives.
