What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervising Mental Health Worker position at Northwestern Community Services Board?
This position is responsible for collaborating with jail staff in the provision of mental health services for inmates with serious mental illness. Duties include performing diagnostic assessments when a behavioral health need is identified; making recommendations for treatment and, where appropriate, provide effective treatment services for identified individuals; refer to and coordinate services with RSW contracted physicians and psychiatrists; assessing crisis situations with jail staff either face to face or via telephone, including provisions for after-hours calls; assuring aftercare through the use of community based resources to ensure that service needs are met upon release; and maintaining timely and professional relationships and communications between NWCS and RSW.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in relevant field required*
- One year of experience in working with individuals with behavioral health diagnoses and crisis intervention
- Virginia licensed eligible (LMHP-type) or Virginia licensure preferred (LPC or LCSW) preferred.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving record and the ability to provide own transportation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May be exposed to allergenic environments from client’s homes, including extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
- May be exposed to clients with infectious diseases.
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time to visit clients in and out of the catchment area as needed.
- Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at times.
SALARY: $70,577.00
