NMC is currently recruiting for a Practice Support Specialist in Northwestern Urology.This position is a full-time (80 hours bi-weekly) position, hours are 8a-4 : 30p.
JOB SUMMARY :
The Practice Support Specialist provides excellent customer service while registering patients, scheduling patient appointments and answering the phone. This position supports the Physician Services' clinics with various administrative and clerical functions. Duties may vary based on the clinic. It is an expectation that this position is able to cover all at offices within their coverage group.
PREREQUISITES :
Education : High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience : Prior clerical work experience in a medical office, knowledge of medical terminology, proficient typing skills preferred. Experience with an electronic health record, medical billing, insurance claims, medical records, and / or patient registration preferred. Must be comfortable with a multi-line phone system.
Other : Must be able to understand and provide written and verbal instructions pertaining to scheduling and medical provider requests. Must have adequate math skills to collect money and make change. Ability to work in fast-paced environment and communicate with people at all times in a professional and tactful manner. Must be competent with general computer skills. Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize appropriately.
