Collections Specialist/Practice Support

Timber Lane Pediatrics is currently seeking a full-time Collections Specialist to join our team at our South Burlington location.

The Collections Specialist has an important role in our office. Reducing patient balances is the goal of this position. The main location will be at the South Burlington office but travel to Burlington and Milton will be required to provide training to the front desk on collections when needed and possibly cover the front desk. Our South Burlington office is open on Saturdays, staff rotate coverage for the Saturday clinic.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm

Saturday (rotating) 8 am to 1pm

Pay is based on experience

Collection Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Staying up to date on training as it pertains to best practices for collections

· Working collections for all 3 Timber Lane locations

· Calling Accounts that are delinquent to obtain payment

· Calling Accounts to collect money before they become delinquent.

· Setting up payment plans

· Answering questions about medical bills

· Working closely with the MSO and Billing department to resolve patient complaints.

· Send out collection letters

· Send out dismissal letters

· Help in process improvements

· Other duties as assigned.

While the primary responsibilities are around collections, this position does require front desk and phone responsibilities.

Front Desk Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Greet and check in visitors for their scheduled appointments

· Collection of copays and balances due on accounts

· Obtaining all necessary demographic information from visitors

· Updating documentation in the patient’s medical record.

· Schedule patient appointments in person and over phone

· Answering inbound calls

· Transfer inbound calls to appropriate staff or departments as needed.

· Assist in filing duties and additional office tasks as necessary

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Collections Specialist

· Experience in collections required

· Experience as a receptionist, customer service representative in a medical office

· Experience with Medent is a plus!

· Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word

· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
