Summary & Qualifications :
Summary
The Director of Annual Giving & Special Events executes all projects of the annual giving program, manages the President's Club annual giving society, and assists with and / or runs special events. This position completes more than 50 fundraising projects annually including solicitations and reporting pieces sent to alumni, donors, and community members. This position provides personalized communication and reporting to donors in the President's Club, a giving society for those who give $1,000 or more annually.
Additionally, this position will assist with and / or manage events such as donor stewardship events, college-wide fundraisers with an emphasis on unrestricted giving, community lectures, exhibition openings, and more in concert with colleagues within the Dennos Museum and International Affairs Forum. This position reports to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations and frequently works closely with colleagues in multiple departments including executive directors and program directors, as well as the President's Office occasionally, to execute unit-specific projects.
Qualifications
- Two years of demonstrated written communication experience with letters, newsletters, mail merges, etc. (Required)
- Bachelor's degree (Required)
- At least one year experience in project planning (Required)
- At least one year experience in event management (Required)
- Database experience with the ability to navigate independently (Preferred)
- Evidence of organizational skills, with strong attention to detail (Preferred)
- Experience with content development (graphic design, web, PR, communications, or marketing materials) (Preferred)
- Exceptional knowledge of personal computers, word processing, and spreadsheets (Preferred))
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills (Preferred)
- Ability to prioritize and take on new tasks in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment (Preferred)
- Experience in team environment and strong interpersonal skills (Preferred)
- Ability to lead without authority (Preferred)
